RetailQA Automation + DevSecOps

Security checks moved from manual step to CI/CD

Two QA Automation functions and one DevSecOps function embedded into a national retailer's delivery pipeline for 18 months.

The challenge

One of Chile's largest retailers was scaling supply chain initiatives across multiple distribution centers and hundreds of stores. Engineering was shipping fast, but QA and security still depended on manual effort: repetitive validation before each release, regression testing that consumed engineering time, and security checks handled as a separate step. As the operation grew, both the risk and the workload grew with it.

How we delivered

  1. Ownership, not staffing

Bowery took ownership of QA Automation and DevSecOps as continuous engineering operations integrated into the client's technology environment.

  2. Two QA functions

automated testing and regression coverage across the critical supply chain flows, executed with every release.

  3. One DevSecOps function

CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, and security controls strengthened and maintained as part of daily delivery.

  4. Security inside the pipeline

DevSecOps controls embedded directly into CI/CD, removing dependency on manual checks.

  5. Monthly visibility

ongoing reporting on coverage, execution, and work completed, so leadership could see the state of releases without asking.

The outcome

Over 18 months, critical release processes moved from manual validation to automated, repeatable workflows: every release tested automatically, regression checked before deployment, and security controls executed inside CI/CD. The internal team stopped spending its time on repetitive validation and returned to product and engineering work. The operation is still running alongside the client's technology team, with senior ownership on Bowery's side. \[falta: approved client quote]
